Five playbooks worth trying this weekend, plus one thing that happened in AI agents.
Five playbooks
01 · Claude Code
Reproduce a flaky test with competing theories
That test that fails one run in fifty finally gets a real hunt.
Why it matters. Claude Code forms competing theories, keeps an audit of the ones it rejects, and stops at a reproduction recipe you can re-run, so nothing gets pushed or merged without you.
02 · Claude
Propose a refund with a policy gate
Let an agent draft refunds without ever issuing one.
Why it matters. It quotes the policy clause it relied on, never proposes more than the customer paid, and treats ticket text as data, so a persuasive message can't talk it past your policy.
03 · ChatGPT Agent
Score an agent run against a safety rubric
Grade your agent's last run on a 0 to 12 scale.
Why it matters. Six checks cover goal, tools, facts, policy, escalation and irreversible actions, and a fluent reply that didn't finish the job never passes.
04 · Claude Cowork
Line a hospital bill up against public prices
Turn a confusing hospital bill into a clean spreadsheet of line items.
Why it matters. Claude Cowork flags charges that repeat and lists questions for the billing office, then leaves the call and any dispute letter to you.
05 · Claude
Build a daily research digest from feeds I name
One short digest from the last 24 hours of links you already collected.
Why it matters. Every kept item carries its primary source link and whether you need to act, and a slow day gets called quiet instead of padded with invented headlines.
One thing that happened
Google Research detailed how it grounds AI agents in real lab robotics, using a digital twin called VERID to dry-run every liquid-handling protocol before it touches reagents.
